According to Google Dictionary the word ‘resolution’ can be defined in almost a dozen ways from ‘pixels per square inch’, to ‘finding a solution to a problem’, or a ‘decision to do something or behave in a certain manner’. As the new year unfolds many of us have made our resolutions and, no doubt, by the end of the month many will have fallen by the wayside. Instead of making a commitment to a year long effort to change some portion of your life, which may not be sustainable, consider instead setting smaller, more attainable goals. For better health take the stairs instead of the elevator. For improved family relationships plan a meal at the dinner table with no electronics in use. For a stronger community get to know your neighbors better starting with a simple wave or hello. And to revitalize economic prosperity in your region support your local economy.
